The next Congress will decide many important issues.

Will they balance the budget or will they continue to spend billions on corporate welfare and pork-barrel earmarks?

Will they make the 2003 tax relief permanent, or will they do nothing so that a family of four making $60,000 per year will pay $1,800 more in taxes?

Will they fix our health care system by implementing free-market reforms, or will they continue to move toward socialized, rationed systems like those of Europe and Canada?

Will they reform the tax code to make it less complicated, more fair, and more efficient or will they continue to defer to well-paid lobbyists seeking special treatment for their clients?

Will they permit expanded drilling in the United States to reduce our dependence on foreign oil?

The campaign for Minnesota's Fourth Congressional District seat should include an honest discussion of these issues. I look forward to that debate.
